"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life."
Proverbs 13:12
OUR VISION
HopeTown exists to Reach People who are far from God and Connect them with the Hope of Jesus.
Who We Are
HopeTown Church is a non-denominational church with a heart for serving our community and helping people take their next steps and discover what God created them for.
Hope + Community
When you put these two things together (hope and community) you get a place where people can come, connect, and belong.
HOPE: There is a world full of people that give up on life, not because they want to, but because they run out of hope. Hope is what sustains every person in the good and tough times.
COMMUNITY: We are a gathering of people that are committed to living life together. Whether it is serving our community, celebrating good news, or walking through heartache, we are determined that we are better together.
What We Believe
HopeTown Church is a gospel-centered community that celebrates the life of Jesus. We proclaim his death and we rejoice in his resurrection.
OUR MISSION
God’s highest aim in creation. Having a clear vision for your life begins with having a clear vision of God. We pursue people, just like God has pursued us. (Luke 19:10, John 3:16-17)
God’s Word & worship. Knowledge of Truth is the beginning. Obedience to Truth is the Goal. We PRESENT truth because truth coerced is not truth received. (John 16:5-15, John 8:31-32, 1 John 3:18-20)
We freely give what we have been given. GRACE is the disposition OF God that allows us to have a new position WITH God when our faith is IN God THROUGH His Son, Jesus. (Matthew 12:33-35, John 1:14, Colossians 3:12-15, Ephesians 2:8-9)
We are better together. You were Created for Community because you NEED Help, Support, and to Make a Difference. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Hebrews 10:23-25)
Our lives are best suited to serve our Maker. We believe in the Principle of Small Things, First Things, & Right Things. We are a church that believes in taking next steps. (Romans 12:1-2, Colossians 3:23, Colossians 1:9-10, Luke 16:10-12, Zechariah 4:10, Matthew 6:31-33, Proverbs 14:12, 1 Corinthians 11:1)

Statement Of Faith
The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible, and inerrant. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11)
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and all-wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all people. (Genesis 1:1, 2:7; Exodus 3:14, 6:2-3, 15:11ff; Leviticus 22:2; Deuteronomy 6:4, 32:6; 1 Chronicles 29:10; Psalm 19:1-3; Isaiah 43:3, 15; 64:8; Jeremiah 10:10; 17:13; Matthew 6:9ff; 7:11; 23:9; 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John 4:24; 5:26; 14:6-13; 17:1-8; Acts 1:7; Romans 8:14-15; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 4:6; Colossians 1:15; 1 Timothy 1:17; Hebrews 11:6; 12:9; 1 Peter 1:17; 1 John 5:7)
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5)
The Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor, and instructor and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit bestows a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. Believers are commanded to earnestly desire the development of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10)
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)
Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. This is to serve as both as act of obedience and a sign of new spiritual birth; having put to death the old life and born again as a new spiritual person with purpose as defined by Jesus’ commands and the totality of Scripture. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Romans 6)
A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross. (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; 1Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25)
a) According to the Bible, we relate to each other as brothers and sisters committed to this family of God and we build strong biblical families in Jesus Christ, meeting the special needs of children, youth, adults, seniors, and godly families of every kind in Christ.
Therefore, we value the monogamous marriage of one man to one woman, as defined in Scripture, as the only kind of marriage-like relationship God values or accepts. (Acts 16:31, Mt 19:13-14, Eph 5:22-6:4)
(b) According to the Bible, God has defined men/males, and women/females, by His order in creation and procreation, based on their biological and physiological gender at birth. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Matthew 5:31-32; 18:2-5; 19:3-9, 13-14; Mark 10:6-12)
(c) According to the Bible, marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the only acceptable channel of sexual expression according to the Bible, and the means for procreation of the human race. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Song of Songs; Matthew 5:31-32; 18:2-5; 19:3-9, 13-14; Mark 10:6-12; Ephesians 5:21-6:4; 6:1-4)
(d) According to the Bible and in the spirit of Christ, we oppose all attempts to define morality, marriage, family, human identity, and human relationships in ways other than those the Bible portrays as acceptable to God. We oppose all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, incest, homosexuality, so-called same-sex marriage, transgendered relationships, and pornography. (Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Ephesians 5:21-6:4; 6:1-4; Colossians 3:5-10, 18-21; 1 Timothy 5:8,14; 2 Timothy 1:3-5; Titus 2:3-5; Hebrews 13:1-5; 1 Peter 3:1-7)
(e) According to the Bible and in the spirit of Christ, we oppose all forms of human trafficking, racism, exploitation, slavery, violence, greed, selfishness, oppression, and any other attitude, activity, or relationship that degrades humans, and denies them the dignity which they were created in the image of God to enjoy. We speak and work to provide for and protect the poor, the powerless, the child, the orphaned, the abused, the aged, the sick, and the unborn. We contend for the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joshua 24:15; 1 Samuel 1:26-28; Psalms 51:5; 78:1-8; 127; 128; 139:13-16; Proverbs 1:8; 5:15-20; 6:20-22; 12:4; 13:24; 14:1; 17:6; 18:22; 22:6,15; 23:13-14; 24:3; 29:15,17; 31:10-31; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; 9:9; Malachi 2:14-16; Matthew 5:31-32; 18:2-5; 19:3-9, 13-14; Mark 10:6-12; Acts 16:31; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Ephesians 5:21-6:4; 6:1-4; Colossians 3:5-10, 18-21; 1 Timothy 5:8,14; 2 Timothy 1:3-5; Titus 2:3-5; Hebrews 13:1-5; 1 Peter 3:1-7)
